San Antonio hosts a lot of 5K run/walks to raise money for good causes.  One such run/walk was organized by some friends and held this last weekend.  The B.I.S.H. (Belivers Inspiring Survivors for Hope) Foundation held its 2nd annual Santa Antonio 5K run/walk on December 1.  Over 500 people ran (or walked) to raise $17,000 to benefit cancer research.   Each runner was given a Santa suit to wear during the run. Prior to the race DJ Peter Ray energized us with funky Christmas music.   After the run numerous food and beverage tables were dispensed complimentary coffee, tamales, pizza, pasta, fruit and beer.  The Rick Cavendar Band  entertained participants following announcements of results and door prizes.  The race started at Sunset Station and meandered through the east side and north downtown.  The event was a lot of fun and raised money for a good cause.  I can’t wait to participate again next year.
