The San Antonio Diwali Festival of Lights

Here are some photos from last night’s San Antonio Diwali Festival of Lightsin downtown Hemisfair park.  This is rumored to be the largest complete Diwali celebration in the United States and was estimated to have 15,000 people in attendance yesterday.  We were able to sit in the front row during the fabulous Parade of States because my husband’s company was one of the main sponsors of the evens.  As a result, we were able to get some great shots (check out those reflections on the water!).  We also were invited to have dinner at the top of the Tower of the Americas, and afterwards watch the fireworks show (which is always the finale of a complete Diwali event, according to our hosts).  In addition to the Parade of States and the fireworks show the festival included numerous vendors selling Indian food, clothing, jewelry and other items.   Enjoy!
