Sunny weather brought people out in droves to the Fiesta Arts Fair at the Southwest School of Art and Craft (SSAC) on Sunday. The highlight of the festival were 119 artists who came from across the United States to sell exceptionally nice artwork. Art mediums included painting, photography, jewelry, glass, ceramics, wood and sculpture.
Artist booths were set up outside on the grounds and in the lovely cool chapel. Bands played in the central garden. Food vendors included La Margarita and the pink Saweet Cupcakes truck. Drinks included the best margarita I have ever had at a Fiesta event. Children’s art activities were available in a separate area overlooking the Riverwalk.
In previous blogs I wrote about Trabajo Rustico, cement sculptures located around San Antonio. From May 6 to 30 the SSAC is having an exhibit about this art tradition. The exhibit includes a symposium and bus tour on May 15th.
