(Update: The 2010 holiday laser show will be shown on December 9th at 7 pm; December 10th at 7 pm; and December 11th at 2 pm and 7 pm. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time on Ticketleap.)
Urban 15’s Holiday Laser Show enthralled both children and adults Friday night. The show started with a variety of holiday songs including “Feliz Navidad” and “Jingle Bells.” Following the holiday music were three artistic pieces combining lights with instrumental music. The first piece had an outer space quality with the audience bathed in light slivers. The second song was “Taps” featuring laserist Tim Walsh playing saxophone with laser accompaniment. Mr. Walsh said that the final piece had won an international award at a laser light festival held in Mexico in April.
The show was offered in Urban 15’s comfortable theater located at 2500 S. Presa near IH-37. Urban 15’s friendly staff greeted us outside the door. Tim Walsh and George Cisneros created and narrated the show. The show lasted about 75 minutes.
The holiday laser show will be shown twice more on Saturday, December 12, at 2 pm and 7 pm. The show is very reasonably priced for families. Children under 12 years are $3 and students, military, seniors and artists are $4. My pictures don’t really capture the experience of the lasers and music surrounding you but I hope they will give you an idea of what to expect.
