Esperanza Peace & Justice Center is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Mercado de Paz/Peace Market this Friday and Saturday (November 27th and 28th). The Market will be open from 10 am to 6 pm each day. Admission is free.
I went to the market last year. It was very enjoyable with live music, food, raffle prizes and many artists selling a variety of handcrafted items. This year’s market features artesania from the Mexican states of Chiapas, Oaxaca and Puebla. My friends from Women’s Global Connection will be at the market selling baskets handcrafted by women in Tanzania.
The Esperanza Center is located at 922 San Pedro Avenue. Parking will be available in two SAC lots on Evergreen Street behind the Center.
