Despite having no ties to either university I got swept up in the excitement of the University of Notre Dame “Fighting Irish” football team taking on the Washington State University “Cougars” in the Alamodome on Halloween night. My husband is half Irish and our son’s high school didn’t have a football game this week so that was reason enough to head to the Alamodome. The football game wasn’t very exciting but the fans and the Notre Dame band and spirit groups were fun.
